While our main hospital is amazing and can provide every service we offer on site, sometimes you just need to slow things down. Have you been to our clinic locations?!

Jamestown Animal Clinic on Narragansett Ave and Newport Animal Clinic on Thames Street still allow our doctors to provide our high standard of care, but in a smaller, one-on-one setting.

If you would like to schedule your next appointment at a clinic, just ask-- staff at any location can help!

Did you know that February is dental health month? While raising awareness is important, we focus on dental health all 12 months of the year!

Periodontal disease is the most common dental condition in dogs and cats – by the time your pet is 3 years old, he or she will very likely have some early evidence of periodontal disease, which will worsen as your pet grows older if effective preventive measures aren’t taken. Early detection and treatment are critical, because advanced periodontal disease can cause severe problems and pain for your pet. Periodontal disease doesn’t just affect your pet’s mouth-- infection can cause significant disease affecting the kidneys, liver, and heart.

The treatment of periodontal disease involves a thorough dental cleaning, and x-rays may be needed to determine the severity of the disease. Your veterinarian will then make recommendations based on your pet’s overall health and the health of your pet’s teeth, and provide you with options to consider.

If you are concerned about periodontal disease in your pet, contact our office at 401-849-3400 or nah@newportanimalhospital.com to set up an appointment today!

Newport Animal Hospital is excited to offer Laser Therapy to our patients!

Laser therapy is an effective and safe treatment that can reduce inflammation and pain in your pet, as well as promote faster healing.

Emerging science has shown veterinary laser therapy as an effective option in treating sore muscles, degenerative joint conditions, chronic non-healing wounds, and in post-surgical rehabilitation. The benefits of laser therapy include accelerated tissue repair, improved nerve function, and improved vascular activity that speeds up the healing process, closes wounds quickly, and reduces scar tissue!
