Ashley C – Reception Supervisor

Ashley began her career at NAH in August 2013. Originally from Rochester, NY, Ashley earned a degree in Kinesiology/Pedagogy from the University of New Hampshire and also has a Master’s degree in Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire University. Although Ashley has a passion for sports, her love for animals is what brought her to NAH! She excelled as a member of our front desk team, and earned the position of Reception Supervisor in September 2016. Ashley currently resides in Portsmouth with her family & her handsome dog named Memphis. 

Selah-Assistant Reception Supervisor

Selah Joined Newport Animal Hospital staff as a receptionist in March of 2016. New to the veterinary field, Selah has spent the last several years honing her skills and gaining knowledge in all areas of animal medicine. She has built strong relationships with patients and families who are a part of the Newport Animal Hospital Community. In her current role as Assistant Reception Supervisor, Selah helps to ensure that the reception team is able to serve all those who visit the hospital with professionalism and care. In her down time Selah enjoys cooking, hiking, running, roller-skating, and spending time with her husband and two cats Booker and Baker.  

Elise

Elise joined the NAH reception team in 2014. Elise attended Salve Regina University where she studied English Literature & Philosophy of Education and fell in love with Newport and Aquidneck Island immediately. Elise has had a life-long passion for animals and is so thrilled to finally have a job that combines her love and compassion for pets with her acquired clerical skills. She currently lives in Massachusetts with her two super cute and crazy kitties.

 

 

Rachel

Rachel joined our receptionist team in June 2014. A proud Navy wife, she made her way to Newport from North Carolina with her husband, and came with plenty of experience as a veterinary receptionist– she is originally from Maryland where she worked in another animal hospital for 5 years. When not at NAH, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband and her gorgeous German Shepherds Tauga, and Lu Rae.

Chai

Chai

Chai joined the Newport Animal Hospital reception team in August 2020 after moving from Vermont to be closer to family. They graduated from the University of Vermont with degrees in English and Studio Art. Chai lives in a little cottage on the water in Warwick with their little family that consists of two corgi mixes named Theo and Lightning. In their free time they enjoy painting, camping, and dog walks on the beach. Chai loves forming friendships with the patients and helping to solve problems around the hospital.  

Rachael

RJ started at Newport Animal Hospital in October 2020. RJ follows in her mother’s footsteps who has been a veterinary technician for nearly 25 years! RJ started her career as a receptionist and continues thriving everyday she’s here! RJ has always had a passion for animals, but was afraid to take that next step. Well two years later here she is living her dream! When RJ is not working you can find her going to the gym, reading or hanging out with her best friend Ellie Mae a 4 year old yellow Labrador Retriever and her recently adopted Belgian Malinois, Hunter! You can always catch RJ hanging out with all of our beautiful Labradors!

Jaymee

Jaymee received her Associates Degree in Medical Office Administration at Bristol Community College and has been part of the Newport Animal Hospital reception team since 2021. She loves learning about the medical side of the job and then being able to effectively communicate that new information with clients. She also enjoys making sure that the cookie jars are fully stocked so our patients can get delicious treats during their visits. Jaymee is a new mother to a handsome little boy named Colson. When not working, Jaymee is usually on a hike with her Blue Heeler, Harley, or spending time with her rabbit, Thumper, while planning her next Disney vacation.

Hannah

Hannah was grooming dogs before she started her career as a receptionist at The Newport Animal Hospital in June of 2023. When she is not at work, you can find Hannah hiking with her Pit Mix pup, Maui. While she grew up in Rhode Island, she has also lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland before The Ocean State called her back home.
