Associate veterinarian needed to join our multi-doctor, multi-site, small animal practice. Full-service hospital with complete range of diagnostics available. Experience preferred, but not necessary. Highly qualified new graduates/interns are encouraged to submit application. Position is full-time. Salary is commensurate with experience. Full benefit package offered.
The Newport Animal Hospital, Inc., is a busy six doctor small animal medical and surgical hospital serving five communities along the beautiful southeastern Rhode Island coast. The practice consists of a main hospital in Middletown, Rhode Island, situated in a new 13,000 square foot facility offering full medical and surgical capabilities including a separate, expansive surgical suite and treatment area. Diagnostic equipment include a computerized radiology unit within a separate lead-lined room, digital dental radiology, ultrasound, Tonopen, Doppler blood pressure and pulse oximetry. Close by are two full service satellite clinics located in Newport (Newport Animal Clinic) and Jamestown (Jamestown Animal Clinic) offering a quieter environment for nearer residents. All sites are fully equipped and computer-linked with real time record updating.
Our doctor staff is enthusiastic and excels at teamwork and client communication. The practice is also affiliated with a boarded surgeon and internist (cardiology). We have a dedicated technical and support staff of 30 who are well trained and motivated. Together we offer thorough, sound medicine including dentistry and oral health, chemotherapy, orthopedics, canine reproduction and emergency services.
Area communities are diverse and well populated, yet retain a pleasant, small town feel. These are wonderful communities that offer an amazing array of arts and recreational activities. Our clientele is well informed and they demand and receive high quality medicine.

RECEPTIONISTS
Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, setting up new clients and patients, preparation and maintenance of medical records, admitting and discharging patients, filling some prescriptions, over the counter sales, mailings, computer operation, financial transactions, filing, and front office and reception area maintenance.
VETERINARY TECHNICIANS
Technicians are responsible for hospital maintenance, assisting the doctors, laboratory procedures, radiology, client communication, medical procedures, pharmacy, operation and maintenance of instruments and equipment, inventory, daily treatment of hospitalized patients, rehabilitation, assisting in the operating room and maintenance of the OSHA and Hazardous Materials programs.
