Outi
Clinic Supervisor 

Outi began working at NAH in February of 1999. Originally a native of Finland, Outi spent several years there working with and training horses. When she decided to make the journey to the United States and start a new career, her interest in animals led her to a position at NAH. She took to working with dogs and cats just as well as horses! Outi now manages our two satellite offices, the Newport and Jamestown Animal Clinics. Even with the added responsibilities as Clinic Supervisor, Outi still gets to take part in her favorite aspects of the job; client service and client education.  Outi currently lives in Jamestown with "Bob", "Frida" and "Tony", her three adopted cats!




                                                                             
 
 
 Lindsey
Surgical Supervisor
Lindsey became a member of the NAH team in 2001. Hailing from Marion, MA, Lindsey became a resident of Aquidneck Island while attending Salve Regina University. Her love for animals and their care led her down the veterinary technician career path. As Surgical Supervisor, Lindsey's interests include, anesthesia, oral surgery and dentistry. She continuously updates our policies and procedures,  making all inpatient services at NAH more efficient, modern and as safe as possible.  Lindsey currently resides in Middletown with her Anguillan Adoptee "Fin", her two kitties "Chopper", and "Ina", her husband and their newborn son, James!

 

 


 
 
Melissa
Outpatient Staff Supervisor & CVT

Melissa began working as a technician at NAH in the summer of 2000. After receiving a B.S in Biology from Hood College, Melissa decided to further her career as a tech and chose to pursue an education in veterinary technology. She received her certification from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Colorado. Upon receiving her certification, she returned to RI. Her interests include emergency medicine and orthopedic surgery.  Melissa has been dreaming of working in this field since she was 5yrs old.  Her canine and feline friendly home includes an Oriental Shorthair named "Bernie", and a French Bulldog named "Ramona".

Jackie
Outpatient Staff Supervisor
Jackie has been a member of the NAH team since 2005. After receiving a B.A. in Psychology from Roger Williams University, Jackie decided to explore a career which focused on her love for animals. The compassion, dedication and amazing care she gives to every pet and every client lead her to the position of outpatient supervisor.  In a
ddition to her duties as a supervisor, Jackie's interests include surgical procedures, dentistry, client education, and her favorite breed, the Golden Retriever!  Jackie currently lives in Tiverton with her cats "Frankenstien", "Goliath" and "Kattashtrophe", her Cairn terrier "Ty", her Puggle "Laney".

Tony
Tony has been a member of the NAH team since 2005. Tony attended the University of Rhode Island, where he received a bachelor's degree in Psychology. His interests in animal health led him to a position here at NAH. Tony's occupational interests include preventative medicine, client education and inpatient care. Tony shows a passion for learning new skills and is excellent with animal care and restraint. He has excelled at every aspect of his job at NAH, and his efforts have made him a valued member of our surgical team!  Tony is the only staff member with out his own personal pets, but we don't hold it against him.

 


 
 
Sarah
Sarah has been a member of Newport Animal Hospital since May 2008.  She attended the University of Rhode Island and concentrated in pre-veterinary medicine, graduating with a BS in Animal Science. While Sarah started her career at NAH as an outpatient technician, her education, skill and enthusiasm earned her a place with our inpatient staff. Over the past few years, Sarah has become an indispensable member of the surgical team! She currently resides in North Kingstown with her black Lab "Jake".

 


  

 


Dave
Adoption Coordinator

Dave has been a member of the Newport Animal Hospital staff since October 2008.  He attended the University of Rhode
Island and graduated in 2002  with degrees in biology and animal science.  In addition to his responsibilities as a veterinary technician, Dave is also NAH's Adoption Coordinator. He organizes all adoptions that take place through NAH, and oversees the care that each "adoptee" receives during their time with us! Dave hopes to one day pursue a career in wildlife rehabilitation.  He recently relocated to Warwick where he lives with his two cats, "Tookie" and "Matsi",  and his Border Collie mix "Echo".

 

 

 


Katie
Originally from Nebraska, Katie started working for the Newport Animal Hospital in April of 2009. She spent most of her life around farm animals, and has always enjoyed animal care. Katie would eventually like to work as a physical therapist for dogs and horses. Although she doesn't have any pets here in Middletown, she has MANY back home! Katie's Nebraskan pets include a Papillon named "Harley", "Rusty" the Pug, "Blackie" a black Labrador Retriever, "Chaz" the cat and "Lamone" the Cockatiel!

 

 

 

 


Katie
Katie began working for the Newport Animal Hospital in July of 2009. She attended the Maine Maritime Academy, where she graduated with a B.A. in Marine Biology. Katie then moved to Norfolk, VA where she worked at an aquarium doing basic marine mammal care. She has always loved working with animals and would love to someday work with sharks, stingrays and turtles. Katie resides in Newport with her husband, their Labrador mix "Hannah" and "Lucy" their cat!
