Veterinary Associations

• R.I.V.M.A Spay & Neuter Assistance Form - The Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association offers financial assistance to low-income, qualifying pet owners.
• American Veterinary Medical Association - This site is a good starting point to learn more about a variety of topics, including feline injection-site sarcomas and the latest subjects in veterinary medicine.
• American Association of Feline Practitioners - The AAFP is like the American Medical Association for cat doctors, and has lots of good information regarding feline health.

Financial Assistance

• CareCredit--This company was created to help owners pay for their pets medical expenses. It can be used for unplanned or emergency situations. It is accepted for routine appointments as well as medications and food. The website can give you additional information on payment plans and how to apply.

Poison Information

• Animal Poison Control Center - This is the ASPCA's Animal Poison Control Center. It includes a library, links to other sites, and important phone numbers for emergencies.
• Plants Toxic to Animals - Information from the ASPCA regarding toxic, (and non-toxic) plants.

Grief Support

• Association of Pet Loss and Bereavement - We have all experienced the pain of losing a pet. The Association of Pet Loss and Bereavement has set up this site for support during this most difficult time. You will find inspirational stories, grief counseling resources, hotline number and many other resources.
• Tufts University Pet Loss Support - Resources and support for those going through a difficult time.
• Rainbow Bridge - Anyone who has ever lost a pet should visit this wonderful site. It is a terrific tribute to our lost family members

• Potter League for Animals - The Potter League is a shelter located in Middletown, RI. If you are looking for a new family companion, they have everything from hamsters to dogs looking for a forever home.
• Pet Matchmaker Rescue - Pet Matchmaker is based in both Tennessee and Rhode Island. Pet Matchmaker works to find families for homeless dogs.
• Forever Paws Animal Shelter - Forever Paws is located in Fall River, MA. There are a variety of feline and canine companions available for adoption.
