All of us at Newport Animal Hospital take great pride in being a part of our local community, and try to do our part to keep its pets safe, healthy and happy!! Here are just some of the things are doctors and staff are doing to help the animals in our neighborhood:
Potter League's Pet University
On April 20, 2011 the Newport Animal Hospital hosted the
Potter League’s Pet University. Pet Universities are free presentations that are
open to the public, and cover a variety of pet related topics. This months
topic was pet nutrition, which was presented by N.A.H's newest addition, Dr. Eric Wood. Dr. Wood spoke
to a full house about calorie content and weight management, age and nutritional needs, food allergies, and
much more!

Low-Cost Rabies Clinics
Each year in April, two of our veterinarians volunteer at the Middletown & Jamestown Rabies Clinics. These events provide low cost rabies vaccinations to town residents. Pictured below is Dr. Randy Wirth, administering a vaccine to a very grateful patient!
The proceeds from these low-cost rabies clinics go to support the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association's spay/neuter assistance program. Pictured below is Dr. Jack Civic, donating his time to the four-legged residents of Jamestown!

The Robert Potter League for Animals
Once a week, the doctors at Newport Animal Hospital volunteer their time at The Potter League for Animals. They provide examinations for all pets taken in to the shelter, as well as any vaccinations needed. They also provide medical care for pets that arrive to the shelter with illness or injury. Pictured below is Dr. Lisa Walker, examining a new arrival with the assistance of a volunteer from the Potter League.
